Pilates is a form of exercise, used to train the “trunk of the body” and keep it stable while the extremities move freely. It was initially designed by Joseph Pilates, who whilst ill in bed worked out a way of functionally exercising, using suspended training with bands and ropes.
Posture is everything, so after we have “aligned” the body and freed off the areas causing restriction and tightness where possible using the Biomechanics techniques, we can work on keeping our posture using good Matwork exercises alongside a strengthening routine to improve pelvic and spine stabilisation also working on shoulder function. This is the core of creating a base for strengthened functional movement.

Further exercises can be done on the reformer which is machine designed to challenge the body further. Alternately you can mix and match with Personal Training and do some cardio and strength work alongside
